As Banqueting Sous Chef, you will play a central role in bringing each event to life with impeccable cuisine. Working closely with our Head Chef Andrew Gaskell, you will lead the banqueting kitchen, ensuring that every dish reflects the luxury and creativity for which Sofitel is known. From large-scale weddings and exclusive corporate events to intimate gatherings and private dining, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee and innovate on menus that cater to a wide range of tastes and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diverse Menu Creation: Develop and execute a wide variety of banqueting menus, from grand buffets to elegant plated dinners, designed to meet the diverse needs of our guests.
  • Quality Control: Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation across all events, maintaining the high standards expected by Sofitel.
  • Creativity & Innovation: Infuse creativity into every dish, taking inspiration from global culinary trends while honoring local ingredients and traditions.
  • Culinary Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, health, and safety in the kitchen, while working efficiently and effectively to meet the demands of each event.

What you will bring to the role
  • You are ambitious, hard-working and efficient.
  • Successfully completed your MBO 3 within the kitchen or higher.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position.
