Are you ready to live the Legend as Assistant Sommelier Intern?

Are you interested in a career as Sommelier? With this internship, you have the opportunity to gain experience by assisting our Sommelier in our fine dining restaurant Bridges, which is located in the heart of Amsterdam!

What are you going to do?

Together with the Sommeliers and the chef, you are going to work on wine-food pairing. In this way, you will challenge your taste palette and gives you the opportunity to come up with perfect wine/food pairing. You will learn all the ins and outs about being a sommelier from our experts.

You will also visit several tastings to expand and improve our wine list. Together with the team, you will be responsible for the stock counting and keeping track of the wine storage.

Last but not least, you will provide the most hospitable service and make sure all our guests enjoy the food in Bridges in combination with our beautiful wines and their stories.

Not only during, but also after your internship, we see possibilities and career opportunities. You also have the possibility to do various cross trainings in different departments to broaden your hotel knowledge.

The internship allowance is €600 gross per month, based on 38 hours per week. Besides this, you also have the possibility to receive travel allowance. Every day you can enjoy a meal in our staff canteen, free of charge.

Who are we?

Sofitel Legend the Grand Amsterdam offers five-star deluxe service in a unique Amsterdam historical ambience with French elegance. Our hotel is part of the French hotel chain Accor.

We are located in the former City Hall of Amsterdam and we offer 177 hotel rooms of which 52 are suites. The Grand also features 19 Meeting rooms, an urban Spa, a Garden Bistro and fine dining restaurant; Bridges.

Your profile

• You’re following a hospitality or gastronomic study
• You are looking for an internship for minimum 5 months
• You speak English on a business level
• You are eager and motivated to learn more about wines
• Having Wset 2 or a similar certificate is a plus
